Learn how to compare two fractions. \frac{3}{5}\,.

 

When considering the two fractions \frac{3}{5} and \frac{2}{3}, which fraction is bigger? How can you tell?

One way to compare these two fractions is to find a common denominator and then compare the numerators.

\frac{3}{5}\,=\,\frac{9}{15}

\frac{2}{3}\,=\,\frac{10}{15}

Since it is easy to see that \frac{9}{15}\,, then we know that

\frac{3}{5}\,
